About the Experience

Enjoy the magic of Perth during golden hour on our Sunset Dinner Cruise - the only small group, exclusive sunset experience on the magical Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River).

Kick off your evening at Elizabeth Quay with a drink in hand and a shared dinner by the water. As the light turns golden, we’ll take a short stroll around the Quay before stepping aboard a small charter boat for the main event: sunset on the river.

Cruise past the back of the iconic Blue Boat House for a view most people never see, then settle into the middle of the river with a glass of Swan Valley sparkling and artisan chocolate from Sue Lewis Chocolatier as the sun dips behind Kings Park. Then we’ll cruise past Heirisson Island and under the Boorloo and Matagarup Bridges as dusk sets in and the “City of Light” comes to life, before gliding back into Barrack Street Jetty.

No rushing and no big walk, just three hours of the most magical part of a Perth day. It’s the perfect group outing for special occasions and celebrations.

• Minimum numbers: 4 guests needed for the tour to go ahead. If we don’t reach the minimum, we’ll be in touch to move your date or give you a full refund.

• Accessibility: The dinner venue and walking tour route are accessible however there is no wheelchair access to the boat. Guests should be able bodied and not exceed the boat weight limitations of 130kg.
  

What to wear and bring:

• Comfy clothes and flat shoes

• A jacket for the boat, as it can get breezy once the sun goes down

• Small bags only, because space on the boat is limited

• The boat has saddle-style seats, so tight pants or short skirts can be tricky

What’s the best sunset cruise in Perth?
Golden Hour is Perth’s only small boat public sunset cruise. Instead of a crowded ferry, you’re on a small charter boat with just a handful of guests, cruising the Swan River (Derbal Yerrigan) as the sun sets behind Kings Park and the city lights come on.

Is dinner included?
Yes! You’ll start at The Island in Elizabeth Quay with a drink on arrival and shared finger food such as skewers, croquettes and pizza. Then on the boat you’ll enjoy a glass of Swan Valley sparkling and artisan chocolate from Sue Lewis Chocolatier.

How long is the sunset cruise and where does it start?
The whole experience runs for 3 hours. It starts with around 40 minutes of dinner and drinks at The Island, Elizabeth Quay, followed by a 20 minute golden hour stroll around the Quay, then a 2 hour cruise. It finishes at Barrack Street Jetty.

Is it a good date night or after-work activity in Perth?
Absolutely. It’s a really special experience, perfect for date nights, birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions. Yes! We can cater for vegetarian, gluten free, vegan and other dietary requirements. Just let us know in the booking form.

Are there options for non-drinkers?
Yes, there are non-alcoholic options for both the arrival drink and the bubbles on the boat.

Can I buy extra drinks?
You’re welcome to buy extra drinks at The Island before we head off. Drinks can’t be purchased on the boat.

How do I get there?
The Island is a 5 minute walk from Elizabeth Quay Train Station. Parking around Elizabeth Quay is limited and you’ll be enjoying a drink or two, so we recommend public transport or an Uber.

Is there a toilet on the boat?
There’s no toilet on board, but we’ll have a toilet stop before we board. If anyone needs a break during the cruise, we can pull over halfway through.

What happens if the weather is bad?
If the weather isn’t suitable for cruising, we’ll contact you by text message and offer a rescheduled date or a full refund.
